Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four major tournaments this year.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her remaining competitions in 2025 due to the illness that has affected her for the last week and a half.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate before starting next year's training.

Those preparations are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

Raducanu had her blood pressure taken in her opening round against Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Raducanu was also moving noticeably restricted in the third set against Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won 28 victories this year and reached the semi-finals in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route prior to a loss in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions late this year.

The athlete revealed that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
